Young Living’s Ecuador Farm has over 30 acres of Conoga trees/Ylang Ylang. Ylang Ylang are the flowers that grow on the Conoga trees. These trees originated in East Asia and were transplanted to Madagascar over a hundred years ago. Madagascar became a huge producer of these trees. Ten years ago Gary Young planted Conoga trees on his Ecuador Farm in order to produce Ylang Ylang Essential Oil.
The Ylang Ylang flowers are hand picked by local woman. The flowers are ripe and ready to be picked when there’s a red line inside of the flower.

Here’s a neat fact about the distillation of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil… They use hydro distillation for Ylang Ylang and other flowers such as rose because it’s gentle on the flowers. While distilling all of their essential oils, the oils touch nothing except stainless steel and glass. After it is distilled, samples from each batch are taken to their on-premise laboratory to be analyzed. The Ecuador Farm has the complete Seed to Seal process in this one location!
Here’s an awesome recipe from Jared Turner:
Couples Blend- mix 5 drops of Ylang Ylang, 2 drops of Sandalwood, 2 drops of Orange, and a teaspoon of massage base.
