I laughed when my husband said that I am so picky when it comes to food that I’m a “food snob!”
Well if being a food snob means that I want only the best foods to enter my children’s bodies, then I’m okay with that. I’ve worked hard to educate them on the dangers of eating fast foods, to avoid food coloring, and to limit the amount of gluten and sugar they eat in a day. My kids actually ENJOY eating fruits and vegetables. My 8 year old is obsessed with steak, so I buy clean organic meats.
To me it’s about training them while they’re young, so they become adults who value good food that will keep them healthy for years to come. Does that make me a “food snob?” If yes, so be it! I’m just a mom that cares deeply for her family. In the end, you are what you eat.
With this being said, I’m excited to announce that I’m partnering with Professional Chef Rosemarie Copeland. I will be taking cooking lessons from her at my house and then sharing what I learn. I’m super excited to learn more recipes that are easy to create and kid friendly.
I was told, that if I did what I loved–What I was passionate about, I would never work a day in my life! And it was this mantra, that lead me from the small cubicles of The Technology Industry to minuscule kitchens of Manhattan.
I personally believe that my “schooling” began in My Nonna’s Kitchen as soon as I could drain pasta. But truthfully and professionally I attended Manhattan’s International Culinary Center and Italy’s ALMA for my formal education. It was because of these schools that I was able to learn at a “Michelin” starred Restaurant in Italy; excel at Michael White’s Osteria Morini and its’ demanding Theatre Crowd; Persevere at Manhattans first South East Asian Restaurant; Dominate at David Ellis Catering and its demanding Fortune 50O Clientele ; And now Master the Art of Home Cooking for my 2 yr old Son and Husband. ” ~Rosemarie Copeland
